Valtrex is a
prescription pill approved by the FDA that gives you two treatment choices for managing genital
herpes: "outbreak therapy" with 3-day dosing or "suppressive therapy" with once-a-day dosing.
And it's the #1 prescribed herpes medication. Valtrex disrupts the process by which the herpes
virus reproduces itself and spreads to other cells in the body. This helps to keep the virus
inactive, or "sleeping". There is no generic substitute for Valtrex®.
